Mentorship
KidsAcquire® mentor candidates are trained within KidsAcquire® Mentorship Training and Certification courses. These are the 10 indispensable KidsAquire principles for every KidsAcquire® mentor that has been certified to apply before and at the time of each class.
KIDSACQUIRE® HAS 10 MENTORSHIP OATH PRINCIPLES
1- Move for attention
If you realize that you lose the childrens’ attention, make sure you change your position (CYP) or move in the classroom while performing the activities. If the lesson is going on a static mood change the mood and try to do whatever you are doing in a different position. If you are sitting, stand up and if you are standing, sit down. The main philosophy behind this is to spice up the lesson with more enthusiasm.
2- Repetition is never futile unless boring.
If you make sure that the acquisitions are done and you still have time, choose one of the activities you have done in this lesson or one of the most enjoyed ones in any of the previous lessons that the children appeared to enjoy most and do the same activity again.
3- Send ``inertia`` away by games, activities/exercises
Whenever you feel some kind of “inertia” either in the Little Giants or even within yourself, exercise a generic game among the games – you have identified before the lesson – that have been proven entertaining and successful to attract the Little Giants’ attention. It is obligatory for each KidsAcquire® Mentor to identify such successful games, activities/exercises that instantly attract the Little Giants’ attention. Please bear in mind that our successful KidsAcquire® Mentor’s most prominent quality is his/her ability to dexteriously govern the attention of the Little Giants and act immediately according the situation he/she diagnoses during the classes. This requires to remain vigiliant and focused from start to finish of the lesson. Every minute counts and invaluable.
4- Every KidsAcquire® Mentor's critical quality is ``patience``.
This is a much needed quality; as you, at times, may feel desperate exercising an acquision step assuming the acquisition is not winning. When you feel likewise, always remember a toddler’s stages of acquiring her mother tongue qualities by simply recording in the first 36 months.
5- When you ask a question, encourage the Little Giant to respond with a full sentence.
If you are responded with yes or no be determined to give the Little giant the full sentence instead of rejecting the answer. PLEASE never say “no!” Always be insistant encouraging them responding you fully.
6- When it comes to the KidsAcquire® Mentor and parents' relation management...
Every KidsAcquire® Little Giant’s parent’s critical quality is patience. Explain the parents that “this is a much needed quality; as you, at times, may feel desperate whether your child is capable of acquiring English”. Always remember your toddler’s stages of acquiring her mother tongue qualities by way of simply “recording” in the first 36 months. KidsAcquire® acquisition philosophy relies on this unshakable natural development where a toddler acquires mother tounge simply by hearing, looking and touching unknowingly instead of listening and seeing; as these actions require conscience or will power which a toddler doesn’t have at that stage. You would never doubt whether your recording device is recording or not once you touch the “rec” button. All you need is speak and wait until the recording duration is over. It will record and play anyway. Same is true of us; we keep being patient and perseverant making sure that no acquisition is futile.”
7- Time Management of the KidsAcquire® Mentor:
This concept of time management is of the core quality of a promising KidsAcquire® Mentor who is shining to be the next KidsAcquire® Guru. Having said that, considering the KidsAcquire sessions last 30 to 40 minutes and knowing that each KidsAcquire Acquisition of the Acquisition Manuals has 12 to 16 steps from start to the end of each session; it is imperative to take this matter with utmost care that unless time is governed dexteriously some of the steps of the said Acquisition will most probably be left out. In order to refrain from this to happen, just bring a timer with and spend no more than 3 minutes for each of the steps. This may have an exception if some of the steps are more detailed. If so, just study the timing of each and every step of the said Acquisition and allocate the needed time for each steps in an effort to do each step of the Acquisition the justice. So that every step gets dealt with in the session.
8- Mind your pronunciation of the words you utter in the class.
If you think you lack any of these words’ pronunciations make sure you correct your pronunciation of the word/s before the class commences.
9- Stick with exact and correct pronunciation
Never refrain from pronouncing the words in their exact form even if you think you may look and/or sound funny or exaggerating while doing so.
